access key to the Royal Chapel of Versailles was given to the Vicomte de Rohan during a party organized 23 November 2009 in his honor, as as president of the Friends of Versailles for 22 years.
The donor wanted by this gesture to honor both the memory of Baroness Elie de Rothschild - Vice President of the Society of Friends of Versailles from 1992 to 2003 - and the tireless efforts since 1907 by the Society of Friends of Versailles to enrich the collections of the Palace of Versailles and find sponsorships specifically intended to assist the various restorations.
This key will enter the permanent collections of the Palace of Versailles and return to its place by being exposed to the heart of the Chapel Royal. sources stored at the National Archives, the model of this key was developed by Grettepin to 1710.
