MICHELTROUVETOUT TIPS: THE LAMP LED.

Hello,

caving is also the technical and wits.

Micheltrouvetout aka Professor Michel Pichel, will from time to time we present inventions, adaptations, modifications, basically all things that can engage the world of caving.

Micheltrouvetout.

This time, it gives us a way to mount an LED 1V in a conventional lamp.
Thanks to him.
Tip: You can click on the diagrams to see them larger.

Let him speak.

Replace traditional incandescent light by an LED-type "L UXEON " is not complicated. One parameter, however, not neglect, it is the supply voltage and the rated current, under penalty of destruction + or - fast this LED.
For the first parameter we will choose a voltage between 4.5 V and 6 V, allowing the use of 4 batteries of 1.2 V / 2700 mAh connected in series, or the good old 4-cell battery , 5v, or rechargeable 6v. The first 2 solutions that can be directly incorporated into a cordless headset for ~ 7 hours, for minimal weight.
As the current regulation, it will be ensured by an electronic system simple, reliable, cheap and here is the schematic diagram.

The practical realization is done by making a small circuit board, which will take place on the 5 components, the transistor being turned down on the circuit for reducing congestion.
· Drill holes diameter 0.8 mmpour components and 3.5 mm mounting holes
· Mount and solder these components on the circuit (follow the directions)
· son four times for solder connection to feeding the circuit, and led to the latter
· meet the LED and the circuit by 2 M3 screws / 20mm long, separated by a spacer of 6 to 8 mm where a space between the 2 pieces, it is necessary to enable the LED evacuate its rear calories (radiator)
· ; son going to solder the LED, anode (+) and cathode (note polarity) on the LED anode is marked by a dot
· block well done is then mounted in the lamp, after clearing inside this one its bulb and its plug heater, setting taking place by 2 screws, you of believing too long
· enlarge the hole of the old bulb in the reflector to allow transition to LED
· son solder connecting power to the circuit via the switch (again observe polarity)

And unless error or bad welds that must operate from 1 st blow. This assembly has already been proven on many items

The actual size of the printed circuit seen from solder side
is not the correct scale on this blog.

PS : resistance of 220 ohm can be replaced by a transistor mounted TEC current generator (see diagram) A BF245 will do.

Materials needed

1 resistance 1, 8 ohm ; 2 screws M3/20mm long
a 220 ohm resistor ; 4 nuts M3
a BD137 transistor or equivalent ; 2 spacers 6 to 8 mm high
2 diodes 1N4148 a piece of single sided CI
LUXEON 1 1 W

That there is more to go to practice.
A big thank you to Michel Pichel for giving us this information very interesting.

On the eve of Christmas, I wish you a Merry Christmas will probably be very Dash (I meant whiter than white).

Dsobeur.

A little link for great photos of arrivals at Avalon on the net recently, it has nothing to do with the subject but they are so beautiful.: http://www.scavalon.be/webalbums/index . html
