As chronicled the last album (The Like ), we had to wait many years before listening again the voice of Jay Kay. The English Jamiroquai have been desired. Being too young to leave at the time of their last great success, I finally wanted to move on the dancefloor on bass riffs of London. Unfortunately, I would stay still sitting on a bench trying to save my ears The Time (Dirty Bit) , new insult of Black Eyed Peas made to the world of music.

Listening to the first track, the aptly named Rock Light Star Dust , one point is clear: where is the funky bass!? Luckily, in the second that question is answered: it is here! White Knuckle Ride brings the "Boogie" that was lacking in the previous song. This signature style Jamiroquai never leave the album and will culminate on A It Good In The Hood . The introduction of the latter is immediately think about cult Another One Bites The Dust of Queen . One could therefore suspect from the first notes that the rest of the song would be good. Rock Star Dust Light , yet, as I write this column, it Synchronized , their fourth album, which runs through my speakers. This album has the taste of a Jamiroquai but leaves us hungry. Because all still very far from bad, it can serve as appetizers for the rest of their discography.

The best conditions for listening to the album:
For this album, the place most recommended is not a dance but a lounge bar on the left bank of Paris. Not being a frequenter of places to go out sores, I leave you the choice of address.

In the past, I liked JK as one can love in adolescence: the look, for tubes generational ( Too Young To Die ) and for small dance steps in the clips (I think to hop on the radiator at the end of the clip Canned Heat whenever I see a radiator in a corridor). Travelling Without Moving could take pride of place beside School of Argentine micro t and Californication.

Rock Light Star Dust does not contain the pearl that could fry JK at the top of the poster but the album is quite nice although early plays can leave marble. The effects of voice, female hearts, the electronic gimmicks, the saxes and flutiaux give deliciously nerdy side to this album that is meant to be light and funky. The album never really takes off, but there is no false note: the voice of the Iroquois is always just enough and the melodies are swirling and rhythmic (through a cascade of instruments) that are never bored.

Disappointment may be the rendezvous for those who already saw fly Kangol beret Ober and baggy on the dance floor: Jamiroquai went to the dance floor lounge. Those who want to wiggle languidly without losing a single drop of sweat will be happy because the only flaw of this album is not having a tube at the height of his illustrious predecessors.
